Justifying your actions

1 . Você já teve de justificar suas ações para alguém? Quais eram as circunstâncias? Foi algo fácil ou difícil de se fazer?

2 . Ouça a gravação. Mike Kearney acabou de voltar de uma conferência em Nova York. O patrão dele não está muito satisfeito e está conversando com ele pelo telefone. Diga os motivos do descontentamento do patrão de Mike.

Grammar: Conditionals

Podemos usar as orações condicionais para justificar ações passadas. A forma é If  + past perfect ; (oração principal) would  / wouldn’t  + present perfect .

If I hadn’t left early, I would have got stuck in the traffic.
If I hadn’t flown with Royal Air, I would have missed the beginning of the conference.

4 . Ouça novamente a gravação e relacione as justificativas de Mike, à esquerda, com seus motivos, à direita.

5 . Observe as frases a seguir e verifique se elas estão corretas gramaticalmente. Diga quais as frases corretas e corrija as erradas.
