A bit of a disaster

O Past Perfect é um dos tempos verbais mais utilizados no inglês, aprenda aqui em apenas 20 minutos sobre ele!

1 . O que deixa você com raiva ou aborrecido? Observe a lista de situações desagradáveis abaixo e classifique sua reação de 1 (com muita raiva) a 5 (um pouco aborrecido).

a) You miss a flight because you are delayed in a traffic jam.

b) A friend uses your computer and breaks it.

c) Your car is stolen.

d) You burn the meal you are cooking.

e) A friend fails to keep an appointment with you.

f) You are out shopping and discover you don’t have any cash with you.

g) A friend arrives unexpectedly at your house without phoning first.

h) A friend borrows one of your CDs without asking.

2 . Você ouvirá cinco pessoas falarem das situações acima. Relacione cada pessoa com a situação que é mencionada.

Grammar: Past Perfect Tense

Quando falamos de duas ações no passado e queremos dizer que uma ação aconteceu antes da outra, podemos usar o past perfect . Ele é formado com o had  + verbo no particípio passado.

When Susie arrived at Bob’s house, she found out he had left.

Isso quer dizer que Bob saiu de casa antes de Susie chegar.

Geralmente usamos already  com o past perfect  para enfatizar que a primeira ação foi concluída.

When I arrived, everybody had already eaten.

Para formar orações na negativa, usamos hadn’t  + verbo no particípio passado.

Marty was very hungry because he hadn’t eaten any breakfast.

3 . Ouça a gravação do exercício 2 novamente. Para cada situação a seguir, diga a ação que ocorreu primeiro.
