Getting away from it all

Os multi-word verbs são muito importantes no inglês! Por isso, esta lição é dedicada a eles!

1 . Você tem algum lugar em que costuma passar seu tempo livre? Pode ser a praia, um lugar no campo ou um quarto tranquilo em casa. Qualquer lugar em que você se sinta relaxado. O que você faz para fugir da rotina?

2 . Lin, Nancy e Cathy são três executivas muito ocupadas e que vivem e trabalham em Hong Kong. Elas são amigas e se encontram uma vez por semana para almoçar, relaxar e “fugir da rotina”. Ouça a conversa das três no táxi a caminho do restaurante e complete as frases abaixo com as palavras do quadro.

Grammar: Multi-word verbs

Lembre-se: os verbos preposicionais são verbos comuns como go, get, make e give combinados a preposições e advérbios, formando assim um novo verbo.

Cathy gave up smoking.

4 . Ouça a conversa entre duas mulheres no fim de um almoço e complete o
diálogo com verbos preposicionais.

5 . Anote os verbos preposicionais nas frases à esquerda (1–4). Em seguida, relacione as frases da esquerda (1–4) com as da direita (a–d).
