Stage 7

Making travel plans

Dear Dave,

How are you? How’s life in Sydney?
I’ve got some news. Do you remember I told you I might be coming to Australia on business? Well, today my boss told me I’m attending a conference for the company in November. It’s in Hawthorn, Melbourne.

I’m flying from London to Melbourne via Bangkok, arriving in Melbourne on 15 November. I’m spending three days there at the conference and then I’m coming to Sydney for meetings on Thursday and Friday. After the weekend, I’m working in our local office for two days.

By the way, I’m staying at the Hilton in Sydney and I’m flying back to the UK on 25 November. So that means quite a lot of free time in the city! Are you going to be around then? It would be great to see you. Email me soon.

Love
Julie

3 . Complete a resposta de Dave usando a forma correta dos verbos no quadro.

Dear Julie,

Great news! I’m so glad that (1) you …………….. to Oz and that you’ll be here in Sydney. I’ve made a few plans to show you around. Let me know what you think.

On the first evening, (2) we …………….. dinner at a restaurant called ‘Jules’, if that’s OK with you. I’ve booked a table for 8.30. We could walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge into the city. The view is fantastic.

(3) I …………….. the next evening free. There’s so much to do: concerts in the park and at the Opera House, live jazz, night helicopter flights over Sydney. (4) I …………….. the times of the helicopter flights tomorrow.

Oh yes – how (5) …………….. you …………….. to the airport when you leave? I could drive you there myself. Let’s talk about it. I’m really looking forward to seeing you again.

Mail me before you leave.

Love
Dave

Do you know?

Oz é uma gíria comum para Austrália.
As pessoas normalmente dizem ou escrevem mail me soon em vez de email me soon e mails em vez de emails.
