Grammar: Reported speech (1)
Quando queremos dizer a alguém o que dissemos anteriormente, ou o que alguém nos disse anteriormente, usamos o discurso indireto. Se a ação no discurso direto está no presente, usamos said (that) e mudamos o verbo na oração principal para o passado.
‘You look a bit ill.’ (discurso direto)
I said (that) he looked a bit ill. (discurso indireto)
Se a ação no discurso direto está no present continuous, usamos o past continuous no discurso indireto.
‘I’m working quite hard at the moment.’ (discurso direto)
He said (that) he was working quite hard at the moment. (discurso indireto)
3 . Observe este trecho extraído de uma carta que Emma escreveu para um amigo e preencha as lacunas com said e os verbos no quadro.
