Grammar: Past continuous tense (1)
Quando falamos sobre atividades que continuaram durante algum tempo no passado, usamos o past continuous tense do verbo. Ele não indica quando a ação começou ou terminou. Formamos esse tempo verbal com was / were + verbo + -ing.
At eight o’clock last night, I was eating dinner.
Se há duas ou mais ações que continuam durante algum tempo no passado, não repetimos was / were.
I was listening to the radio and reading a book.
