Do you know?
No Reino Unido, uma antiga medida de peso ainda é utilizada: 1 stone = 14 pounds. Costuma-se usá-la no singular.
Ex.: He weighs sixteen stone ten. = Ele pesa 16 stone e 10 pounds (234 pounds).
Costuma-se também abreviar pesos e medidas da seguinte forma:
pounds = lb
kilograms (kilos) = kg
inches = in
feet = ft
metres = m
kilometres = km
